Ikweta Safari Camp is a small owner operated luxury tented camp inside Meru National Park. The camp is located 2 km from the Murera Gate and is open all year round. Ikweta is a good base for those looking to visit Meru and Kora National Parks, both of which boast the big five and numerous bird species. Meru National Park is famous for being the setting of Joy Adamson’s book, ‘Born Free’ which was later turned into a movie featuring Elsa the Lioness.

Ikweta Safari Camp Accommodation
Ikweta Safari Camp has 10 spacious canvas tents with a thatch roof overlay. Each tent is tastefully decorated in safari style and has either twin or double beds. Each tent also has its own en suite bathroom with solar heated water showers separated from the bedroom area with a natural stone wall. They also have private verandas facing east allowing guests to sip their morning tea and watch as the sun rises over Meru National park. There is a large swimming pool, DSTV, 3G internet, back up generator and tight security. Food prepared at the camp is made from the freshest produce from nearby farms.The camp also offers game drives and guided tours inside and outside the park on arrangement.
