Crater Lake camp is built on the shores of an old volcanic Crater Lake. It is a few kilometers from the town of Naivasha. It boasts of being among the most romantic camps in Kenya. It is a haven for various bird species e.g. fish eagle, moosebirds, yellow vented bulbul, robin chats, paradise flycatchers and Egyptian goose.

Activities at Crater Lake camp are centred round nature and wildlife.There are guided nature walks in the crater and the Sanctuary.The bird list is over 400 species,of which it is easy to spot more than 100 species in a day. There are 30 species of wildlife in the sanctuary .At night the Hippo come out of the main Naivasha lake to graze,and it is possible to see the Aardvark and spring hares on night game drives.

Crater Lake Camp Accommodation

Crater Lake Camp has 8 luxurious tents and 2 permanent family bandas. All tents are tastefully furnished and each has a private balcony which offers a scenic view of the flamingo lined waters. The famous honeymoon suite best known as the cloud tent has a large bush pole bed, double Jacuzzi bath through a large glass stained window. Guests can enjoy meals at the floating restaurant. The hotel has large hammocks set out where guests can relax and enjoy the view or a read from. The lodge also offers great outside camping grounds for families or holidays.


There is a fully stocked bar,dining room,verandah and a conference room,and the camp is popularly known for its full meals and snacks.
