Lewa Wilderness camp is an exclusive getaway inside the Lewa Conservancy. It is the first private ranch in Kenya since in 1972 to host visitors. The camp is as much a home as it is a truly unique safari experience. It was established in 1922 by the Craig/Douglas family as Lewa downs a cattle ranch thus encouraging local communities and wildlife to co-exist with the ranch cattle. Lewa Wilderness lodge is an integral part of the history of Lewa Downs as it transformed from a farm into a not-for-profit wildlife conservancy gaining an international reputation for extending benefits of conservation beyond its borders.

Lewa Wilderness Lodge has five hill rooms looking down the Lewa’s Western Marania Valley,  perfectly positioned to capture the striking sunrise and four garden rooms on the lush lawn next to the main living areas. All rooms are en suite and have a sitting room  with a well stocked bar and open log fireplace. There is a swimming pool for guests to cool off on sunny afternoons. The Lodge offers a whole different aspect to a safari from game drives, quad-biking, horse-riding, camel safaris and walking safaris.
