Mukima House is a luxurious house built in the 360 acre private Mugie Conservancy. The House, originally built in the 1940’s is a 15 minute drive from Nanyuki and boasts beautiful views of Mt. Kenya and the Aberdares from all angles. Mukima house was built on a grand scale in the 40’s and has been recently rescued, rebuilt and refurbished. Handmade cedar floors, cedar windows and some immense cedar beams make this house one of Kenya’s most exceptional surviving examples of a past era. Mukima house Accommodation
The double storey house, set in vivid tropical flowerbeds with expansive lawns, has 8 ensuite bedrooms, a games room, house office with a broad-band satellite connection, large kitchen with store, laundry room, cloakroom, drawing room, dining room, a generous entrance hall and an upstairs gallery. All the rooms are ensuite and comfortably furnished with local and international pieces. The house also has a library, games room, drawing room with log fire, guest washroom and a cocktail terrace ideal for sun downers. Mukima House has a kitchen and comes fully catered by the excellent and courteous staff. The house serves freshly grown local fruits and vegetables. Dining during the daytime is in the large veranda at the front of the house. There is also an enclosed poolside dining room, sitting room and kitchen.
Mukima House is the ideal away place to hold a meeting or seminar for small corporates. The house can accommodate meetings/ conferences of up to 50 guests in the main drawing room, 14 guests in the dining room and 20 in the central courtyard. Incentives available for corporates holding meetings here include close proximity to Nairobi- 4 hour drive- private safaris, horse riding, golf etc. The house also provides full catering for the benefit of the guests.
