Governors Il Moran Camp
Governors’ IL Moran Camp is located in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, in a wooded section of the park on the Mara River that attracts lots of wildlife and birds. The camp first started out as a getaway set aside for the Governor of Kenya and his royal guests during the colonial days. Guests can enjoy great views of the river and of crocodiles and hippos basking. The camp has Very spacious luxurious safari tents under canvas, each with private verandah, ensuite bathrooms with bath, large shower, twin basins, flush toilet, running cold and hot water.

Governors’ IL Moran Camp has ten vast, luxurious tents that feature super ‘king size’ beds fashioned from ancient fallen olive trees, and Victorian style baths. During the day, meals are served on the banks of the Mara River under the giant evergreen trees. Dinner is served by candlelight in the open dining tent or alfresco by the river. IL Moran is an ideal camp for honeymooners and couples who are looking for a very special safari experience. Tents have 2 electric lamps and 2 x 240 UK Volt plugs for charging cameras and video cameras. Charging in tents can only occur when the generator is running (from approx. 5:00am – 11:00am and 15.30pm – 23.00pm) also Gas & Paraffin lamps in tents. Also 220/240 UK Volt plugs at reception which can charge when the generator is switched off. We also carry a stock of international plug adaptors.
