Mara Buffalo Camp
This camp lies on the banks of the Mara River at the foot of the Oloololo Escarpment, just outside the Masai Mara Game Reserve, and overlooks a spectacular hippo pool. Being directly on the bank of Mara River, guests can watch the game come to drink or hippos wallowing while you relax with a drink on the verandah. Mara Buffalo Camp also has a number of house pets; a baby zebra, a gazelle and an impala.
Mara Buffalo Camp Accommodation
Mara Buffalo Camp is comprised of 38 spacious traditional Bandas classified into three wings; Palm wing (nine bandas), Acacia wing (ten bandas), and Bamboo wing (nineteen bandas). The palm wing overlooks a series of springs, lily-clad ponds and lush indigenous forest, the acacia wing is surrounded by acacia woodland rich in bird life and the bamboo wing comprises of bamboo groves and flowering ornamental trees near the main camp. Each room has a private washroom and shower and a secluded verandah separated from each other to provide maximum privacy and exclusivity. The rooms contain single or double beds and every night a hot water bottle is provided. Each of these accommodation groups has their own butler. Meals at Mara Buffalo Camp are prepared in traditional farmhouse style and are served in the dining room or barbecues around the camp fire.
